At ELIJA (Empowering Long Island's Journey through Autism) April is Autism Awareness, Acceptance & Action Month!
Join us this April and take action by supporting ELIJA's April Pave The Way To Employment Campaign!
Employment offers more than a paycheck, it offers personal growth, social interaction, a productive routine, skill development, decreased dependency on others, and an overall sense of accomplishment and belonging. For young adults and adults living with Autism this is crucial for their overall happiness! With your help ELIJA hopes to decrease the unemployment rate within the Autism population one person at a time!
Last year you generously helped us hire two employees for our summer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) season at the ELIJA Farm. These two employees worked for 10 hours per week over our 16 week CSA, planting, harvesting, sorting and generally preparing weekly shares for 80+ local families who shared in the 2023 harvest . . .
This year we are hoping to employ four individuals for our extended 18-week summer 2024 CSA program - June 3rd through October 11th!
Every donation goes directly to support employment for young adults and adults living with Autism. Your donation, of any amount, will directly help someone living with Autism!
Together we can transform lives, build self-esteem and truly empower people to achieve their full potential!
• A $16 donation employs one worker for one hour at the minimum wage
• A $40 donation employs one worker for an entire day (2.5 hrs)
• A $160.00 donation employs one worker for one full week (10 hrs)
• A $640 donation employs one worker for one summer month
• A $2,880 donation pays employs one worker for the summer CSA season (18 weeks)
