ABOUT THE RIDE

Dr. Bobby Newman BCBA, will be attempting a bike ride from Babylon to Montauk! This is a 100 mile ride, which all the proceeds will benefit the ELIJA School. Autism is a developmental disability that affects the normal function of the brain. Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. Currently, there are no effective means to prevent autism, no fully effective treatments, and no cure. Research indicates, however, that an appropriate educational setting can result in significant improvements for many young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Due to this increase in Autism, it has put an inevitable strain on many of our local school districts, leaving many of our area children with little or no option to have access to a quality education.

The ELIJA School, with your support, will continue to alleviate this void.

The ELIJA School is a private 12 month, full day , non profit education and treatment facility. We service children ages 3-21 diagnosed with autism. Our mission is opening doors to independent growth for individuals with Autism. Our vision is to create appropriate opportunities for these individuals to become contributing & interactive members of their mainstream communities.

We hope you will be inspired to support our efforts to realize the vision of improving the quality of life for individuals with Autism and their families.
